For all of those folk out there writing about how they are going to sit back and wait to see if Obama will "keep his promises", please take heed. Don't be left behind. Stop creating negative self-fulfilling prophecies. Stop expecting others to fix what you already have the power to fix. It's exactly this attitude, apathy, and cynicism that culminated in the last 8 years of political asshattery. I refuse to live in fear anymore. I have had my fill of that in the last 8 years. Today my heart opened up. Today a weight was lifted. Today is a day of change.

But, Obama cannot do this alone. He never once said he could. He should never be expected to. He has no superpowers. Things will not change overnight. He has a right big mess to clean up. But, even if he accomplishes only a sentence out of the things he speaks of, he will be heads above what we've been living with. He is asking for your help. Do your part. If you sit back and wait to see what Obama will do, you are as much to blame for any failure. If you sit back and wait to see what Obama will do, you have no right to the rewards when they come. They will be empty for you if you did nothing to deserve them.

Of the people. By the people. For the people.

We are the people. We decide. We have the power.

Right or wrong, success or failure, I can live with my decision knowing that, at the very least, I will do my part.

Whew! A blender's job never ends! Thank Spirit. :D Let's start at the beginning.
